Excercise #3 The Making of a Complex System

Partners: Miriam Cox

You Art What You Eat

Materials:

 - Table
 - Speakers
 - Ultra Sonic Distance Sensor
 - Screen
 - Computer System/ Rasberry Pie
 - Fruits
 - Plate
 - Custom Fork Sensor made from Ohm Meter

A system where the users choices on which fruit they eat provokes a response in the machine we had built, that triggers a series of set experience most likely revolving around visceral aspects of the fruit. We will try and amplify or emulate the sensation one gets by eating a certain type of fruit.

Each fruit has a different amount of electric resistance so each time you stick a fruit with the instrument we will build it will engage the system to start a certain "fruit" experience.

For example you stick the fork instrument into a strawberry and the system may then say "Strawberry, good choice " followed by a time lapse video of strawberry growth, or maybe nutrition facts, health benefits or some sort of history of the fruit as well as some sort of music that would provoke a strawberry sort of response.

Visceral Aspects:
 - Visual: Music Visuals/ Growth Time-lapse Video
 - Hearing: Speech from System/Music
 - Touch: Touching the Fork
 - Taste: Eating the Fruit
 - Smell: Smelling the Fruit/ Possible smell dispersal system for each fruit
